Typical patients that may qualify for these studies will have some of the following factors:
Age: 18 years or older
Diagnosis: Leptin deficiency or Lipodystrophy
Lipodystrophy is a disorder in which the body is unable to produce fat. The medical condition is characterized by abnormal or degenerative conditions of the body’s adipose tissue. There are different presentations of Lipodystrophy as the loss of adipose tissue is variable and may be generalized or restricted to limited areas.
